Bridge Of Grudges

Life’s too short to have bridges,

Fix every wound you caused with stitches.

You’ve hurt everyone who loves you

Wait is no good, albeit the pain will subdue.

The rift will only grow with time,

And the words, the heart will sing to the chime.

Turn yourself inside out and introspect,

You’ll realize how wrong you were when you view things in retrospect.

It was neither their fault nor it was yours,

This has not only ruined relations but also caused wars.

You believe that you don’t need them,

It could be true but from where does this pride stem?

You are led to believe that you’ve won the battle,

It is a war and it won’t be long before you start to rattle.

You think you live by killing others,

This is life laughing at you and your troubles.

Put your hand over to the heart and listen to it beat,

Like you, it is trying to cheat,

However, unlike you, it is trying to cheat death,

But the death listen to its bleat,

It knows one day, it’ll meet him at the end of the street,

Then there would be no retreat and the cycle would be complete.

Now is the time to take back all the words and the wrongs you ever did.

Bury yourself in a pool of shame and don’t let yourself slid.

Burn all the bridges you’ve ever built,

Destroy them with your love, care, and respect.
